Before 2014 tourists will cross from Chiang Kong to the Lao side, they used the ferries for a short boarding to the lao immigration office. Currently the Lao – Thai immigration are based on the 4th Mekong friendship bridge. So before you will pass to Laos, you have to take a Taxi from Chiang Rai or Chiang Khong city to the bridge, Thai border. Then you will be transported by the bus in 5 minutes to the Lao immigration office, then you will meet our tour guide while you are getting off the shuttle bus.
